What inspired you to start your business?
As baker and trained pastry chef, I noticed many fun and cute apparel options for various areas of baking such as cookies, cakes, and macarons.
However, I felt there was a lack of representation for the cupcake community as it tended to be lumped in with cakes.
I made the decision to launch Designs By Nonny featuring cupcake-themed apparel and accessories with a few general baking designs sprinkled in.
Let's hear a little more about you, Chondra. What’s your story?
Designs By Nonny is a branch of Nonny's Munchies, LLC, which is a minority, woman-owned small business. I'm Chondra aka Nonny. I'm a chemical engineer and trained pastry chef. My specialty is cupcakes, which inspired me to start selling apparel for my fellow cupcake bakers, makers, and lovers.
My online apparel shop is for those who love cupcakes, baking, and letting the world know it! The designs are mostly cupcake and baking related, but it does feature some designs that are just “feel good” designs.
