The Deal: Sweet Fest and the Sugar Coin Academy were both created to be a resource for the food business owner community. Although we do offer paid online and in-person courses and events, we work really hard to provide as much quality information to our community for free.

The Catch: One of the ways we are able to afford to offer so much information for free is by partnering with brands that we support, believe in or feel would be helpful to our community. Often times, these partnerships show up in the form of collaborations, recommendations and referrals on this website…which leads us to explaining the links.

Affiliate Links

Sometimes when we recommend a product, we’ll link to the company’s website using what’s known as an affiliate or referral link. If you end up buying a product that you found using a link on this website, it’s likely that we will get a commission from the vendor as a small “thank you.”

The commission amount can range from a gift card to actual money in the bank. It can be a one-time commission payout or a rolling commission based on whether you subscribed a program. For example, if you sign up for a monthly subscription service we might get a cut of your monthly fee.

However, the important thing to keep in mind is that the referral doesn’t cost you any money. The entire commission comes out of the vendor’s pocket not yours. In fact, on occasion, you may even receive a discount for being a part of our community as we work to negotiated discounted rates for our tribe.

Also, please keep in mind that we’ll never recommend a product simply because it pays a commission. It just doesn’t feel right. Therefore, we’ll only recommend products that we’ve personally used or that have come highly recommended by others.

For your convenience and to be totally transparent, you’ll be able to identify an affiliate link because we’ll include (affiliate link) after the actual link.

Example: Sweet Fest Amazon Recommendations (affiliate link)

Since blogging has a learning curve, some of our older posts may not be as clearly marked as the posts shared after 2022. Therefore, it should be assumed that when you see a link to a third-party product, we’ll likely get a small commission.
