Duff Goldman just got married, We've got the EXCLUSIVE cake details!

On January 19, Duff Goldman star of Food Network's Ace of Cakes married his girlfriend of nearly three years at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles, California.

Duff and his "muffin" (new wife Johnna Colbry) were engaged on Easter weekend last year shortly after Duff realized that he couldn't "imagine living another day without her" in his life. The proposal was so impromptu that Duff didn't have a traditional ring to give her at that time. Instead, he did one of the most chef things ever and created a temporary ring out of butcher's twine.

Of course when a Sweet Community member gets married (shoot when anyone gets married) the only thing the Sugarverse can think about is the cake. So, let's talk wedding cake...or should I say...wedding cakes!

What kind of star studded Food Network wedding would it be if the food selection and even more the wedding cake designs weren't amazing? I mean let's be honest, Duff has sat in the judges seat of many a Food Network show. So of course, our expectations are pretty high when it comes to the design and details of the Goldman's very own wedding cake...of which there were three!

To clarify, some reports on the internet incorrectly state that the Goldman's had five cakes at their nuptials. Yeah, so leave it to the non-bakers to get that little detail wrong. Smh!! There was actually a total of three cakes at the wedding. However, (to their credit) I can see why the non-foodie publications got this detail wrong. You see, one of their cakes actually included five cakes.

To break it down for the non-foodies, the five cakes collectively make up one whimsical cake design. This set of cakes were suspended in front of a blue back drop to give the appearance of cakes that are floating "under the sea". These hanging "chocolate and chocolate-peanut butter cakes" were accompanied by "sugar sea glass and bubbles and surrounded by edible leafy sea dragon cakes," according to Martha Stewart Weddings. This cake feels like something of an homage to Duff's new wife, who Duff feels is "gentle, graceful, and sweet" much like the cake design.

The Goldman's traditional wedding cake was a six-tier beauty adorned with piping to mimic the lace design on the bride's dress.

Reportedly, all but the top tier is made of "red velvet and brown-butter buttercream." Duff explains that the top tier is "actually a surprise for Johnna on our one-year anniversary."

Outside of these gorgeous cakes, the couple also shared a buffet of sweets and treats with their 250 guests.

"Two sheet cakes—pumpkin chocolate chip and carrot—were also offered, alongside a chocolate and vanilla sundae bar with all the fixings: cookies, brownie bites, sprinkles, almond butter sauce, banana foster, and whipped cream...[and guests were also sent] home with cookies in Chinese takeout boxes as the result of a party-wide pot luck; the couple's invites asked all attendees showed up to the event with two-dozen cookies in tow." ~ Martha Stewart Weddings

Duff jokingly said, "There weren't a lot of vegetables involved in this meal." Oh, but let's take that a step farther and talk about the "meat cake" that was served at the celebration as well.

I've seen "meat cakes" come across my social media feed around Thanksgiving, but I never thought I'd see it in a wedding. However, when I heard about this "cake" it really felt fitting for a "Very Goldman Wedding".

The illustrious "meat cake" which is probably going to be the ultimate grooms cake of the year, had a "base tier, made out of Johnna's favorite meatball, was followed by meatloaf, lamb schwarma, and Pennsylvania scrapple (the groom's go-to!) layers." Finally..."the "cake" was frosted with mashed potatoes and topped with bacon roses." LOL! I love that they had bacon roses!! Oh, and the hot dog bride and groom "meat cake" topper was the perfect touch.

So as I said, the Goldman wedding was definitely one fit for Food Network royalty. Congratulations to the newlyweds...may you have a long and happy union!

What's next for Duff?

You can currently catch the Food Network Star along with co-host Valerie Bertinelli on Kids Baking Championship, Season 6 on Monday's at 9 PM EST. Also this Spring, you can catch Duff and the Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro in a 6-week series called Buddy vs. Duff. In this new series, the two masters of cake will "face-off in an epic baking battle for the chance to be crowned the undisputed king of cake." The series is set to premiere on March 10 at 9 PM EST on Food Network.

Here's a throwback to the one time back in 2015 when I met Duff in person at my first cake show in Chicago. We had just launched our t-shirt line which is why he's holding our Classic Donut tee. I've seen him a few more times at other shows, but this was the one rare time I was able to chat with him. As a vendor, shows are generally too busy for us to mix and mingle.
